GMCH Introduces Dedicated Night-Time Vehicle Service for Female Doctors

The Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) has announced a new plan to protect its female doctors during night shifts. From August 17, GMCH will offer a special car service for female doctors who work at night. To get from one part of the hospital to another, like the main hospital site, the Superspecialty Hospital, the CN Centre, or Hostel No. 3, female doctors can now call the on-duty casualty officer. This cop will get a car to pick them up and make sure they have a female security guard with them the whole way. The service will be open from 9 PM to 7 AM, which includes all night jobs, which is when there is the most need for security.
