In a startling turn of events, Delhi Police disclosed on Sunday that the schools themselves had issued bomb threat emails to at least three of their respective campuses, directly. The first inquiry by the special cell of the police revealed that two siblings from one institution were responsible for the threats they conveyed to postpone their approaching tests.

Police officials said that the siblings admitted during counselling that they had developed the notion of sending bomb threats after learning about such historical events. Apparently, they felt that threatening a bomb would provide them justification to put off their tests. The students were let go home following the inquiry, but their parents were advised of the grave implications of such behaviour.

Two additional students from Rohini and Paschim Vihar were also discovered to have sent bomb threats in a such manner. These students tried to find a justification for postponing their tests, thus they admitted sending the threats as they were unprepared for them. These students were also counselled and given go with a warning following identification.

This sequence of events is only a minor component of a bigger trend of bomb threat emails upsetting Delhi's educational operations. Several institutions got threatening emails earlier in the week mentioning explosions and even requesting a ransom of $100,000. More than eighty schools in the city received similar threatening emails from December 9 to December 14, which set staff and student fear. Among these dangers, some even cited "bomb vests," which stoked more uncertainty and anxiety.

Delhi has received more than fifty bomb threat emails aiming at not only hospitals, airports, but also schools, since May. Although most of these threats have proved to be hoaxes, the authorities are actively looking for the sources of these emails to stop more incidents. Though many of these threats prove to be unfounded, the authorities have underlined the need of treating them seriously.

The cops have also urged schools and parents to teach their charges on the gravity of such threats. Emails containing bomb threats sent as a joke or as a means of escape from obligations like tests might have serious repercussions including legal measures. Students who keep sending such threats will be subject to major penalties, according to police officials, therefore their behaviour will not be treated lightly.

These latest events are not isolated, and they draw attention to the rising issue of bogus bomb threats upsetting city daily life. Parents and educators are advised to act preventatively, including talking to kids about the repercussions of false threats and the effects these behaviours could have on the society.

Authorities are attempting to improve their reaction to similar hazards to guarantee the safety of workers and students in Delhi's various institutions as they still probe. The public is advised to remain alert against these disruptive hoaxes and to notify the police of any suspicious activity.
