Parents Accuse Bengaluru School of Confining Children to Dark Rooms as Punishment

Bengaluru's parents are furious amid claims that their children were punished severely by being kept in dark rooms within a private school. Parents at Orchid International School on Mysore Road assert that students were kept in dark, windowless rooms for reasons including delayed fee payments, tardiness, and misbehaviour.
Reports from Asianet News indicate that these events have happened in several schools all throughout the City. Allegatively imprisoned in dark rooms, some youngsters who neglected to pay their fees on time were reportedly even housed in a dark library during regular class hours.
The circumstances have sparked concerns over the treatment of students; some parents have reported that even more severe and punitive actions from the staff followed their children's disclosures of their experiences. These events could have long-lasting psychological damage on the traumatised and fragile children engaged in them.
Vocal in their demonstrations, the parents have formally complained to the Child Safety & Protection Department as well as the Education Department. Their obvious demands are for quick response, including the cancellation of the school's licence and blacklisting from running operations in the city.
Six youngsters who were supposedly kept in dark chambers for the whole school day without light or other conveniences make one very alarming allegation. This has left parents concerned about the welfare and mental health of their children, who are now experiencing not only dread of punishment but also the long-lasting consequences of such cruel treatment.
These claims coincide with a period of investigation on violent and abusive events in Bengaluru institutions. Following an 11-year-old pupil allegedly being beaten in the face with a wooden stick by a teacher, the police opened a case against another school in the city just last month. The event at Holy Christ School in Jayanagar left the sixth-grader with a fractured tooth, which infuriated parents as well as the surrounding community.
Given these latest statistics, many people are wondering about general student safety and well-being in Bengaluru's private schools. Growing public discussion on the absence of control and responsibility in private educational institutions has been spurred by the increasing number of grievances against city institutions.
Parents are demanding that schools answer for the abuse of their children and that robust actions be done to stop more incidences as the inquiry underlines. The authorities should intervene and act as required to guarantee that no youngster may go through such penalties once more.
Parents all around Bengaluru are closely observing how the authorities will handle these alarming claims since this is a continuous narrative. The community is advocating stronger kid protection and improvements in how discipline is handled in classrooms.
